‘Children of Bangladesh’ triumph in first South Asian Football tourney 
 
South Asian Football Tournment

Hosted by Special Olympics Bangladesh, five teams from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Bharat (India) competed over two days in two divisions. In addition to the Prime Minister, government delegates including Honorable Minister for Social Welfare Enamul Hoque Mostofa Shaheed and President of Bangladesh Olympics Association Md. Abdul Moheen graced the Opening Ceremony at Bangladesh Army Stadium on 22 May.

Project Unify Ignites Bharat: Special Olympics Bharat launches Project Unify at schools in Bareilly, Patna and New Delhi, empowering youths with and without intellectual disability to lead the events (left). 
  
Athletes take the lead: Six APAC athletes came together to form an Input Council,  to improve and expand the Special Olympics movement by strengthening athlete voices.

Bharat is ISO Certified:  The first Program in the Movement to obtain the internationally recognised standard for quality assurance.

Family Support Network: Pakistan strengthens its  Network with a seminar for its members.

Family Health Forum:
 Indonesia held a health screening and family forum for its athletes. 
 
Asia Pacific Leadership Conference: Leaders from 25 Asia Pacific Programs met in Singapore in late April to share best practises and future directions
